Thank you so much to Sarah from The Reading Nook for hosting an author interview with me for the launch of Changeling! Tell us a little about yourself and what got you into writing?
I live in the South East of England with my cat, Litha, and am lucky enough to have my parents and older brother living nearby too. Straight out of highschool I trained as an IT Technician, but it was always intended to be a holdover job until I could get my work published. After college, I had some part time positions, but ultimately ill-health took me off the job market full time. I’ve only recently been able to claw my way back into writing regularly, and it’s culminated in my debut novel. I don’t really know of a time when I wasn’t telling stories. The first time I remember writing a complete story, I was about eight years old and I wrote ‘Rosie the Rabbit Goes on an Adventure’ for my english lesson, but I was telling stories much earlier than that, before I could write. I remember using old toys and bringing out a new one every time a new character turned up. I don’t recall if I was telling the story aloud, or just to myself in my head, but I must have been about 1 or 3 years old. I fell in love with books early, and storytelling has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

On March 16th 'Changeling' will officially be out in the world for all to read, and it still feels very surreal.
Especially as, this week, some of the advance reviews have been coming in and they're better than I dared to hope for! Over on Goodreads, 'Changeling' is sitting at an impressive 4.29 stars, but more importantly to me are the comments from my ARC team. It's a genuine delight to see what they enjoyed about the book, and also what they didn't enjoy. The world building they struggled with, or which characters they connected with. Changeling has been a journey for me, and finally letting it go so it can be a journey for other people has been an utter delight to watch. If a little nerve wracking! So take a look at some of the early reviews beneath the Read More, and if you'd like to preorder your very own copy of Changeling, you can purchase it at your preferred store HERE. |
