Jack Sanger & Krysis Krysis didn’t remember the last time she’d allowed rain to touch her physical form. The icy cold seeping through her clothes, the water clinging to her eyelashes forcing her to blink, sending droplets scattering down her cheeks. But Jack’s hand in hers had pulled her into the physical, even as he pulled them into a run, and directed them through the door into his home. Something about the power that ran through the core of him called to her, and she found herself manifesting just to feel the warmth of his skin, his rough palm against her own. And he didn’t seem to notice. Or, he hadn’t seemed to notice. Not until he leant past her to close the front door of his flat behind them. His arm stretched over her shoulder, palm pressed against the door. Her lips a hairs breath from the raindrop hanging from the line of his jaw. The hitch in his breath as his eyes snapped to hers, and she blinked at him slowly. She saw him freeze. Watched him swallow. But curiosity made her bold, and she didn’t even need to stretch so much as relax into him. Lips capturing the cool droplet. Her name released into the room on a heavy exhale. And like the warmth of her tongue against his skin melted through the tension, Jack moved. He exchanged her hand for her waist, and her back found the solid wood of the closed front door. She lifted her head, and his lips claimed hers. The chill of the rain retreated, replaced with fire, and warmth, and desire as her hands sank into his hair and clung to the human doing an admirable job of devouring her whole. And he could, she realised with a shudder that had her pressing closer, seeking warmth and reassurance. He could utterly destroy her, and she’d just handed him the power to do so. And damn her, but Krysis couldn’t quite make herself regret it. Hey there! Do you like my writing? Feel like supporting me so I can write some more? Check out my debut fantasy novel ‘Changeling’.
